MRI Team Blue Ridge Radiology Associates is a patient-centered radiology facility that offers the highest quality MRI imaging while maintaining a comfortable environment for our patients.
We take great pride in offering you accurate and prompt reports while remaining focused on providing compassionate care and high-quality imaging. Every aspect of our MRI Scanner was designed with patient care in mind. Our high-speed technology and wide, short gantry design helps to reduce the amount of time it takes to complete an exam therefore decreasing the risk of claustrophobia.
We offer same day or next day appointments (insurance permitting) with a 24 hour report turn around and 2-hour call reports for STAT appointments.
What is an MRI?
MR imaging uses a powerful magnetic field, radio frequency pulses and a computer to produce detailed pictures of organs, soft tissues, bone and virtually all other internal body structures. The images can then be examined on a computer monitor, printed or copied to CD. MRI does not use ionizing radiation (x-rays).
Detailed MR images allow physicians to better evaluate various parts of the body and certain diseases that may not be assessed adequately with other imaging methods such as x-ray, arthrography, ultrasound or computed tomography (also called CT or CAT scanning).
